Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 28, 2026

This policy covers the meltag.app website and the apps published under the MelTag name.

1. The short version

We ask for as little as we can. This website collects nothing about you. Our games have no accounts at all and keep everything on your device. One app — Konfeti — does need an account, because its whole job is to hold on to your wedding photos and guest list for you; it has its own detailed policy, linked below. Whatever we do hold, we never sell it, to anyone, and we don't build behavioural profiles.

2. Who we are

MelTag is an independent app studio run by two people. It operates as a sole proprietorship — a natural person established in Türkiye — and that person is the data controller for this website and the MelTag apps, in the sense of Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The way to reach the controller is info@meltag.app. If you need the controller's full registered name and address for a formal request or a complaint to an authority, email us and we'll send it to you.

3. This website

meltag.app is a static informational site. There are no user accounts, no comment sections, no sign-up forms. We don't use analytics tools that identify you individually.

  • No tracking cookies. We don't drop cookies to follow you around the web.
  • Server logs. The hosting server and our CDN keep standard short-lived technical logs (IP address, request time, user agent) to keep things running and detect abuse. These aren't used to identify visitors and aren't shared with anyone.
  • Google Fonts. This site loads fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser contacts Google's servers to fetch them, which means Google receives your IP address — that's covered by Google's own privacy policy.
  • The contact form. The form on our contact page has no backend. It simply opens your own email app with the message pre-filled. Nothing you type is sent to or stored on this website.

4. Our games

Games like WordVeto store your settings (language, sound preferences, game history) locally on your device. Nothing gets sent back to us. There's no sign-up, we don't ask for your name, email, contacts, location or photos, and we don't look at anything you do while playing.

Because it all lives on your device, deleting the game deletes the data. There is no account for us to erase on our side — but you can still make a request under section 10 and we'll answer it.

5. Konfeti

Konfeti (konfeti.meltag.app) is the exception, and it's the reason this page can't simply say "we collect nothing". It's a wedding app whose entire purpose is to keep things safe for you, so it has to store them.

  • Your account — your name and email address, so you can log back in and so we can reach you about your wedding.
  • What you and your guests put in — photos, videos, guest-book notes, your guest list and RSVP status, and your wedding details. Guests uploading through the QR code give their name, and nothing more.
  • Your plan — which plan you're on. Payments are handled by the app stores or arranged with us directly; we never see or store your card details.

Your wedding is private. Only you, whoever you invite as the second admin, and the guests you hand the QR code to can see it. We don't publish it, index it, or show it to anyone else, and we don't use your photos for anything of our own.

Konfeti has its own, more detailed privacy and KVKK policy — exactly what it stores, for how long, and how to delete it — at konfeti.meltag.app/gizlilik. Where that policy and this page disagree about Konfeti, that one governs.

You can delete your wedding and everything in it from inside the app, or email info@meltag.app and we'll do it for you.

6. Third-party services in apps

Some apps are free because they show ads. In those cases a third-party ad provider such as Google AdMob is involved. To serve ads, that provider processes a device advertising identifier and basic technical data (device type, coarse region, the ad shown). This is a genuine collection of data by them, even though we never receive it and never see who you are.

Where the law requires it — in the EEA, the UK and similar regimes — the app asks for your consent before any personalised advertising, and you can decline and still play. You can also reset or limit the advertising identifier in your device settings at any time. Google explains its side at policies.google.com/privacy and how Google uses data from partner sites.

Each app's store page (Google Play / App Store) has a data safety section listing exactly what that specific app uses.

7. Our legal basis

  • Performing a contract — running your Konfeti account, storing what you and your guests upload, and handling your plan. That's the service you signed up for; without this data there's nothing to deliver.
  • Legitimate interest — keeping the site online, secure and free of abuse. That's what the short-lived server logs are for.
  • Your consent — personalised advertising, where it's offered. You give it in the app and you can withdraw it in the app or in your device's ad settings.
  • Legal obligation — if a law or a valid legal order requires us to keep or hand over something, we'll comply, and we'll tell you where we're allowed to.

8. Where data goes

We don't sell or trade personal data, and we don't hand it to anyone who isn't needed to run the service. The third parties involved (our hosting provider and CDN, Google Fonts, Google AdMob, and the storage and payment providers behind Konfeti) operate globally and may process data on servers outside Türkiye and outside the EEA, under their own safeguards such as the EU standard contractual clauses.

9. How long we keep things

  • Server and CDN logs — at most 30 days, then deleted or overwritten.
  • Emails you send us — kept as long as needed to deal with your message and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you follow up. Ask us to delete a thread and we will.
  • Game data — stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall.
  • Konfeti content — kept while your wedding is active and through the download window on your plan, then removed. Konfeti's own policy has the exact periods, and you can delete everything yourself at any time.

10. Your rights

Under KVKK Article 11, the GDPR (Articles 15–22) and comparable laws elsewhere, you can ask us to:

  • tell you whether we hold personal data about you, and give you a copy;
  • correct anything inaccurate;
  • delete it;
  • restrict or object to how it's used;
  • hand it over in a portable format;
  • withdraw a consent you previously gave, without affecting what came before.

Email info@meltag.app and we'll respond within 30 days — in practice, much sooner. There's no charge. If you only ever used our games, the honest answer will be "we don't have anything about you", and we'll say so in writing.

If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to a supervisory authority: the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK Kurumu) in Türkiye, or your national data protection authority if you're in the EEA or the UK.

11. Children

Our apps are for a general audience and aren't directed at children under 13. The games don't collect anything from anyone, children included. Konfeti is a tool for adults planning a wedding — don't open an account there if you're under 13. If you're a parent or guardian and you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

12. Changes

If we change something that affects privacy, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. Nothing will change silently.

13. Questions

Email info@meltag.app — we read everything. There's also a support page with the questions we get most often.
